Rotary Orientation Camp!

- Ho cercato di scrivere questo post in inglese per renderlo capibile ai miei amici stranieri -

Friday morning instead of going to school I went to Douglas! I arrived at 11 AM and I met some exchange students. We hanged around the town and then we went to Taco John's for lunch. Here others 4 exchange students reached us.

Everyone, when we came back to the church where we met, had a ride to the camp. It was in the middle of nowhere, we hadn't service on the phone but the landscapes were amazing. At the camp they gave us the rotary sweatshirt that we wore everyday. Boys exchanged suff in their cabin. After dinner we went to another cabin for doing games and know more about us. We exchanged also with the girl and then at 10 o'clock we came back to the sleeping cabin. We were chatting and Thomas heard something: It was a mouse, one alive and two dead!

During the night it was so cold and I didn't sleep nothing. The day before they told us that they would wake up us at 7 but me and the boys woke up at 6 for having shower. The water was hot but when we got out it was so cold that I dressed up in like 1 minute. Then we went to the main cabin for breakfast: Pancakes!

After breakfast we had the orientation, so they devided us in groups and told us about rules and stuff. After lunch we went hiking for about 4 or 5 hours.

It was amazing because we were in the middle of nowhere and we started screaming something like "exchange students" or "europe is the best" 'cause in that moment I was with europeans. There was a lot of echo!

Then a girl said that she saw a snake so we stopped and tried to find it but we didn't so we ran and reached the rest of the people. It was so funny.

We had dinner like at 6 when we came back 'cause after that we had some situations to create and solve, situations that can happen with host families and rotary. Then we had s'mores until 11 PM. It was the first time for me and it was fun. We tryed to learn some tongue - twisters of foreign languages.

We went into the sleeping cabin for chatting. In the morning we heard the sound of the triangle but we were still lying in the bed. The second night I had like 3 pairs of panths, 2 pairs of long shirt, sweatshirt, coat, beret and gloves on. Finally me and Erik reached the rest of the group for breakfast: Burritos!

We saw deers that reached the river for drinking and we went hiking again, so we saw a small lake and we went in the mountains. As the day before, it was amazing so we started taking photos and screaming things.

We had last time of fun 'cause after lunch everyone left the camp, someone came with me to Douglas, someone went straight home. It was so sad to leave the camp. It was cold, we hadn't service on the phone, there were animals and stuff but I would have stayed if I could. We already love each other and we can't wait until december to see us again, so we are trying to plan a weekend to Yellostone National Park!

It's weird that on friday I didn't know who they were and on sunday I already felt that they are a part of me..  "Sometimes we spend years without living for real and suddenly our life concentrates in one single moment."
